31/10/2008 :: Pigmy 3's in stock!!
Howdy peeps, great news for all you crank fans out there...
The latest version of the Pigmy cranks has just been delivered. Now featuring an almost industry standard (for 3 piece cranks) 48 spline axle. The 'Pigmy 3' crank arms are now compatible with a multitude of aftermarket titanium axles currently available. We always looked at making a ti axle ourselves but the constantly fluctuating price of ti has previously put us off. The switch to a 48 spline (from 36) now means we don't have to worry about this, if you get hold of pretty much any other 19mm, 48 spline axle in ti, it'll work.
We have the arms in stock in the regular trusty 4130 tubing and also the super nice Reynolds 853 tubing. LIGHT!!!
Get hold of some today!! (or tomorrow...)
14/10/2008 :: New on line catalogue!!
Howdy y'all!!
Follow this link for a new fangled electronical version of our print catalogue. Big ups to Arty for making it happen too. Clever chap is our Arty...

Seems like I'm always writing about the weather but here goes again... It should be getting colder but Mrs Nature seems not to have been paying attention to the normal conventions of the seasons. Sunday was a scorcher! All day shred at the skatepark followed by a good ole fashioned sit down and slate each other for a while. PERFECT!!
Check the picture of Craig from t'other day too, sunset air. Beautiful, innit! Pic by Yeah Greg.
19/09/2008 :: Sideshow Dave jumps ship!
BOO HOO!!
Today is Sideshow Dave's last day working with us at Gusset. He's been behind a load of our web output and even designed the new 'Block' logo. He's a popular chap round here and will be sorely missed, even if it's just for his debating skills and ability to ask unanswerable questions of a philosophical or often frankly bizarre nature! He works his ass off in the warehouse too by the way, give that man a golden handshake! (it'll be a pint of weird ale more than likely...)
Brighton uni watch out, your biggest skate shredder is heading back to town to finish his degree!
Cheers Dave, we loves ya!!
29/08/2008 :: New clothes in stock now.
Howdy y'all!
Just arrived are the new season's clothing range. We got new design T-shirts, hoods and a couple of colours of military caps, you know, short peak, flat top kinda deals.
Check the pic for graphics of the T-shirts' front and back prints, hats and the hood with sleeve print.
The brown 'Logo' shirt is a deep chocolate brown, as is the hood. The 'Blocks' T-shirt is black, 'Fidel' hats are a nice khaki or black.
Hit up your local stores/mail order to order the stuff in, they good.
Have yourselves a good weekend now!
28/08/2008 :: Kripsy has a foldy leg...
Cambridge legend Kripsy recently decided that having functional legs is for jessies. In qualifying for the finals at King's Lynn jam over the bank holiday weekend he busted out a step thru air to broken leg and broken/dislocated ankle. Grim.
He didn't even make the finals. GUTTED!
Anyone that knows Krips will not be surprised to hear that he rode to the train and from there back home and even walked into A&E the NEXT DAY!! HENCH!!
He's on his own med schedule and made an appearance at the ramps yesterday on his crutches, sporting a fetching red cast up to his knee.
The 'Krimp' is set to be a permanent feature I reckon...
Get well soon Kripsy!!
07/08/2008 :: Belated Bury Jam pic
After a bit of web monkeying we can now bring you a picture to go with news!! (Bar shag , Harris)
28/07/2008 :: HOT!!
Howdy y'all!!
Assuming you've not been under a rock for the weekend, you'll have noticed that it was fekkin hot for the last coupla days!
In typical British style I went out in the middle of it and rode like a demented mosquito...for about an hour. Then I went and had a weep under a tree cos I was melting. So seriously, take care of yourselves out there in the sun, it's more powerful than you think!
25/07/2008 :: Bury Jam ripped!
For those that missed it, the Bury St Edmunds skate/BMX jam went down last weekend and was as good as it promised to be. DAMN GOOD!!
Stoney was indeed there, rare sightings clocked and archived for future reference. People also therefore missed out on the chance to fondle Jed... (check previous news if this is making no sense)
To be honest I missed who won the skate side of things but I'm sure Harley won something, he's a machine on the old wheely board thing.
I do happen to know that the Original Git(tm) Phil Maurer won Pro street with some of his Phil-only moves. Ben Gray picked up the medals for Pro Ramp (intergalactic no hand airs and general style for miles). Both are Bury local shredders, it was a treat to see them pick up the wins. More of a treat was that the jam was hella good fun and everyone seemed to have a gooooood time.
Big thanks to Jay and everyone @ Hardcore Hobbies for putting in work to get the jam organised, plus er, the local council, police, St John's ambulance people, God, everyone that attended...
Check out The Come Up for a cool edit, Hardcore Hobbies Myspace also has pics galore to peek...
Word.
08/07/2008 :: Bury St Edmunds jam!! Hell Yeah!!
Word up y'all! Anybody that's around should get yer asses to Bury St Edmunds on the 20th July for the annual jam. The skatepark rules, the locals shred and the atmosphere is always a treat. There'll be breakdancers there to dry the ramps if it rains (it worked last year!), food, drinks, prizes and general jam style mayhem. Hell, if you're lucky you might even catch a glimpse of Stoney!! If not, a quick cuddle with Jed might be your best bet...
27/06/2008 :: Regime. Commitment. Pain!
I'm currently on a 'ride every day for a month' plan. Before you start, I know lots of people ride every day anyway but I don't. I get tired and stuff...
The point is, it's cool. I don't actually feel tired so much, I'm riding better and having fun with it. Hitting up different spots every other day is damn cool, always on the move, keeping it fresh.
There are downsides tho, my ankles are starting to complain a little, as are my grips. Hot weather plus regular use = 'where'd they go!!?'
So, for all you 'ride less than every day' folks out there, give it a go. Make time to ride every day. It's easier than you think. Get it done.
14/05/2008 :: Ouch.
I learned something yesterday. I learned that if you crash head on with one of your friends, you will break something. Luckily for me, I broke my brake. Try saying that after a few alco-pops...
Also luckily for me, I didn't break my friend's bike, it's much nicer and more expensive than mine!!
He even fixed it for me, what a God. cHEERS mAZ!!
06/05/2008 :: An open letter to the Mother Nature...
"Dear Momma N,
This is mostly just a big thanks to you for being such a sweetheart this (UK) bank-holiday weekend. I know we've fallen out in the past, normally on your exceptionally bad timing when it comes to rain (we know you do this on purpose, it's NOT funny). I have to admit that since such recent indiscretions you've pulled some beautiful days out of the bag. People are now cruising about with red beaks and sore shoulders. The ever present summer shriek - "Don't touch me!"
Unabated riding sessions continued for ENTIRE DAYS!! Non stop riding, no hiding under p*ss stinkin ramps for rain to stop, finding 'orrible car parks to shelter in and such. Now, if you can keep this up for a reasonable amount of time, we won't need to pollute your lovely creation to kick start the nuclear summers that we secretly want for ourselves.
Ya see? you scratch our backs and we'll stop killing yours. Fair's fair, no?"
01/05/2008 :: Shipment in!!
Howdy y'all!! Just unloaded a big old container full of parts. Lucky us eh? Big ups to the boys tho, we done the whole lot in record time, Linford Christie woulda struggled to beat us this mornin! Even the sun came out to play, obviously paying attention to this news column...scary!
Anyhow, we now have the Slink chains back in stock, thank God, sorry if you've been holdin out for these. 1-Er's also came back in, get yer single speed on!!
Also, first drop of the NEW 25t bashwheels. They're SOOOO nice! Get one!! They turned out real good!
Oh yeah, and Bastard grips...Sod it, loadsa stuff just came back in!!
Woop!!
30/04/2008 :: Weather...
So, after a good coupla weeks of half decent weather, it's gone all British on us. Is there anything worse than the 4pm bas**rd storms we get?! Just about ready to bust out of Gusset HQ for a shred then, BAM!! More rain than the Amazon sees in a month comes down in about 12 minutes... Any more of this and I'll be taking my complaints to Mother Nature herself, see if I can't work something out. Maybe if I recycled more she'd be more lenient with the wet stuff?
25/04/2008 :: Attention Street riders of the UK!!
Recent scientific research (by me) has shown that security guards throughout the UK are under the impression that they are super intelligent. They are not. When asked "Do you want me to phone the Police?!", simply answer "No thankyou." It stumps them instantly. Take heed, it may save your life, or at least your evening.
20/03/2008 :: New New Website
We only gone and dun it didn't we?
New pages are up now - check out the gallery, the faq/tech and about pages.
If this is the first time you've seen the new-look Gusset site, get with the program! Get your head out of the sand! If you don't keep your wits about you you'll turn around and you'll be obsolete/over the hill/one foot in the grave. You'll be a wrinkly beardo who wears a wetsuit and a hawaiian shirt in public and says 'hep'. You have been warned.
Keep checking back for more updates
28/02/2008 :: New Gusset site!
Check it out, we felt the site needed an update, both technically and visually. Alongside the obvious stuff, like product info, we`re adding a Tech/FAQ section. This should help those of you out there with the spanner skills to fully install any of our more complex parts. This section will be added to gradually as we get the files written! Bear with us!
Also, we have a team section, letting you know who is out there using and repping our goods. Shredders, every one of em. Cheers fellas!
You will also notice that we have a new logo, it`s been around for a good coupla months but the process of filtering it onto all the parts takes a little time. Looks good tho eh?!
Anyhow, get on with it and play with the site, anything that you think`s missing, holla, we`ll holla back!
