01/11/2005 :: New Pedal Update (sort of…)
We recently received final samples of our upcoming ‘SlimJim’ pedal, it’s a little beauty! It’s gonna be available in black or white with sealed bearings as standard. A magnesium bodied version is also going to be available for those who like a lighter set-up. As mentioned in previous news, the pedals are real thin profile giving amazing ‘feel’ while riding. They’re still a coupla months away from being in the shops but they’re gonna be good!
Update over, get back to work!!
27/10/2005 :: New saddle is here!!
Just dropped into the country is the new Gusset ‘Lil’ saddle, so called cos of its dinky size and low weight. It’s a little beauty. Without a saddle you’re generally in a bit of trouble and this is a sweet choice to prevent any untoward ‘interruptions’ in that area. Check out your local store to get your hands on one… I thank you. Stoo.
26/10/2005 :: USA Trials Domination!!
Great news from our US trials dude Dan Bowhers!! Dan placed 2nd in Pro class at the recent Greenhill Skatepark Jam. Dan’s one powerful rider and his street influenced style saw him pull a blend of 180 transfers, some tech pedal stuff, (anyone for pedal stall to fakie on a quarter!!), and a sweet 270 step up line. I imagine a run consisitng of those combos would have had the judges wetting themselves, I certainy enjoyed hearing about it!! Props to Dan for the result, he’s only started entering Pro class recently!!
11/08/2005 :: Waffen Cranks finally here!!!!
After what seems like a century in development, the new ‘Waffen’ Cranks are here at last. They feature a 22mm axle (Oversize for super buff-ness), Gusset specific arm moulding, BMX compatible and super tough steel flush bolts, leaving no ‘crush zone’ for all you nasty street riders out there that can’t stop smacking your cranks on stuff!!
I personally have caused an immense amount of delay on these by being picky with the bolts, but its worth it to have the goods, right?!
Anyways, right now we have stock of 175’s in BMX BB, not too long for the 170’s and Euro BB’s…
ALSO… Check out mags n stuff in the next few months for the new saddle we’ll have out soon, it’s little and tidy and we love it…
09/06/2005 :: Upcoming Parts N Stuff…
Those of you out there that keep up with the news column on this fair site will know that the saga of the new crankset is ever ongoing. Well, no change as of yet, all specs are finalised, logos, finish etc. All we’re waiting on now is a factory that won’t throw away vital tools to make the darn things!
Other new stuff; An ultra low profile lightweight dirt/park pedal. Features sealed bearings, concave body, spare pins etc. All the usual good stuff that pedals should have. (We’re not idiots) The provisional name is the SlimJim. I tested it for a coupla months and it rules! Just to double test it, I pedal grinded it to death on one side til there were no pins left…it didn’t die! Rah! (Obviously I’m not suggesting that people use lightweight pedals for grinds as standard, but hey, it was fun!!)
Just recieved a coupla samples of new saddles we’ve been toying with, they too look pretty fresh, should be out, erm, I don’t know to be honest. Keep em peeled for more news on that…
Anyone seen Dan, by the way, lost him at the bike show…
19/04/2005 :: Did you think that was ME?!
Just got back from a bonzer day out at Chicksands trails, super comp and dirt jam went down over the weekend with Gusset/Identiti team riders going off left, right and centre. As ever, Tom Dowie, Glen Coe and Rory Backshell were tearing it up all day long. These boys eat freestyle for breakfast!! As ever (part 2), Mr Rob Goose spent some of the day in hospital with a blown out knee. He re-appeared a few hours later saying he couldn’t be arsed to wait for treatment. Mmmm… Anyhoo, he rode later on and even pulled a few flips with his usual style. Git.
ALSO!!! Something I’ve been meaning to clear up for a while now… We have a message to send out to ‘Sideshow’ Dave Cole. He’s the guy who drew the illustrations for our most recent sticker sheet, as previewed at the Bike Show in Coventry. The pictures are, in a word, PHENOMENAL. A massive thanks to Dave, who is a genuine superstar for slogging away at some pics for me. The brief he was given was ” Just make em a bit messed up, yeah?!” The boy done good. Messed up they are!
Last minute news, we’ve still not found lost rider Dan, last seen at the bike show…
03/02/2005 :: New Hubs Have Landed!
In a recent delivery, we received the first batch of the new ‘Dozen 150′ hubs, a 12mm bolt-through rear hub in the new 150mm rear spacing. The new breed of riders and bikes demanding 150mm rear ends can now be fulfilled by this beautifully concieved hub.
Looks have been updated as has the logo featured on the hub shell. Once I get my head round how to, I’ll post a picture of the hub and given a few more days I may even add it to the ‘Products’ section of the site! Revolution! It’s almost as if we have a system or something…
